Support through school closures

In these extraordinary times, our commitment to learning stays exactly the same. With schools closed and travel plans put on hold, the next few weeks will undoubtedly be challenging for parents and students alike – so we hope our regular posts will equip you with strategies to stay ahead and shape a new routine. From advice on exam cancellations to essential preparation for September, we’re here to support children’s studies for the brighter future to come.

We’re here to help

With the school gates closed, educators are turning to online sessions to keep pupils on track. As everyone gets up to speed with new technologies and new ways to teach, our tutors and teachers are already well-versed in a range of online platforms (and our virtual whiteboard) and can support students with this transition.

Now more than ever, maintaining a routine is crucial. Children thrive on structure, and we can help create a varied schedule that ensures learning is effective and fun at the same time. Our tutors and teachers are experienced across the curriculum, bilingual in multiple languages, and with a number of qualified teachers having joined us too, we’re here to help you hit the ground running as soon as schools resume.

Bespoke learning packages

At Figtree, we’ve always believed in tailoring our approach for every individual – and that couldn’t be more important than now. We are adjusting our rates to reflect the pressing need to keep children learning, in what is an incredibly uncertain economic environment, and can offer a complimentary online session to help those new to the medium feel more comfortable.

Whether we’re supporting home learning through one-to-one online tuition, crafting weekly timetables across the curriculum, or running group classes online that keep all your children occupied and engaged together, we will design a learning package that meets the needs of the whole family.

Keeping our sights on September

September might seem like a lifetime away, but the new school year will be here before we know it. Many students would have been sitting exams this summer – critical milestones that help prepare for the coming year, and beyond.

We believe major public exams are a vital experience for children, and something we should attempt to recreate. We have a bank of mock papers for the 11-Plus, GCSEs and A-levels that we can set, mark and provide feedback for. And we can act as invigilators  – even online – and ensure exam conditions from the safety of your home.
